Like St Louis, our team stayed in a variety of hotels over a 3 year period. However, at the end of the day, The Hyatt Regency in Dearborn won our hearts. Physically, the hotel is imposing, with 28 floors, 778 rooms, 2 main restaurants including one in the rotunda (the round object in the first photo). It is across the street from the Fairlane Towne Mall. Restaurants and other night spots are plentiful in and around the mall. If you like Middle Eastern cuisine, Dearborn has the largest concentration of Arab immigrants in the USA.
The location was central for us. We would work in our company offices in downtown (east), at hospital sites (north and east), and we could hold meetings at the airport (south and west). Additionally, when arriving late in the evening, the hotel was a short 15 minute drive. For those in the auto industry, is is located directly across from Ford Motors World Headquarters.
Like all Hyatt Hotels, the accomodations are well maintained. The interior is newer. Unlike other Detroit hotels where we stayed, the Hyatt Regency staff is friendly and efficient. The atrium is spacious, but a little noisy. Despite being in a Detroit suburb, the views are wonderful.
