There are a number of Bulgarian restaurants and a few bars on Chicago's West Side. Chicago by Night caters to the 20-30 year old crowd. A Cheer's style bar dominates the center of the room. Alcoholic beverage service, food, and dancing occur at all different times of the day.
Dominating the Belmont and Harlem Avenue corner, Chicago by Night sits in the heart of a northside Polish neighborhood. Predictably, it draws its waitstaff from the local Polish and a tri-lingual Czech population (Anglicky, Ceske, Polski). Like Cafe Cappucino, Chicago by Night serves as a nightlife jumping off point, with nearby Club Jedynka (Polski) and Club Euro (Ceske).
Unlike Cafe Cappuccino or Cafe Prague, the deep fryer is in use at this location. Goulash, sausages, and french fries share the menu with omelettes and salad. Bottled Bulgarian Aqua, beer, harder alcoholic drinks, cafe, and latte's are served throughout the day.
By night, tables are moved to make space for a small dance floor.
