Kelly Clarkson

Road to Stardom

It's been an eventful road to stardom for this Burleson, Texas native. After high school, Clarkson travelled to Hollywood. While there, she could only muster a part as an extra on Sabrina the Teenage Witch with Melissa Joan Hart. Kelly returned home to work. She worked at a local movie theater, promoted Red Bull drinks, and finally cocktailed at a local comedy club.

Then came along American Idol. For the first show, over 10.000 contestants auditioned. Only one, Clarkson, came out on top. With that victory came a $1 mil dollar recording contract with RCA Records and a short ill-fated movie career. Don't panic yet, this Texas tyke can sing! Clarkson is a tiny girl with a huge voice and plenty of charisma.

Two years after her big victory, Clarkson released her second album Breakaway to favorable reviews. The single 'Since U Been Gone' has already been remixed by Jason Nevins. Despite the techno makeover, the single rocks harder than anything on the first record. With her down-to-earth personality and star qualities, this Texas singer should live up to the moniker of an American Idol.
